What a load of manure! Conversion? Alteration? This bits not the same that bit is similar?? Won't feed belt, what a surprise, extra bit? If it ain't broke don't fix it!!!!! Just buy in an American gun, they know how to make them, well except for the M60, oh and m 240, seems the only British good design was the LE 303. The others being foreign. As for the sten, oh dear! Even the Webley had some problem so I see on one of these shows. Then the Germans H and K had to fix the La or SA rifle, can't do it ourselves? It would have been interesting to find out if the British ammo was better than American ammo in the M16, they would wonder why the British would have had no trouble with it but US did, it was the cordite.

0:39 The top one is a legitimate M-16A2 with its micrometer adjustable rear sight and heavy barrel. The one on the bottom looks like a M-16A1 with an A2 pistol grip and fore end due to its pencil barrel, shorter stock, and less adjustable rear sight (I say less because one needs a tool or a round to adjust for windage).

My guess is that the explanation is somewhere in between the James Bond and the mundane ones. They might not have chosen the Luger as part of a disguise for a spy, but it could hamper a forensic investigation. A 1911 or Webley bullet would be a telltale sign that the assassin was American or British. Maybe the idea behind using a German cartridge was to muddy the waters enough for the assassin to get away.

the 416 was truly built for the modern SOF role (including the price LOL). same combat arms as the AR-15 for easy transition, piston to keep the gas out of your face when suppressed, and won't cook off rounds under sustained full auto fire. 10.4 version was pretty much the smallest reliable AR variant in the world when it was in it's prime. others have come and gone, the 416 still seems to stack close to the top of the heap in terms of options for SOF.

Are these the only examples of this particular design? If so, then I would say that they are possibly prototypes, designed by an amateur who did not fully understand ergonomics. History is full of such impractical weapons. "The Panjandrum" is an excellent illustration of the mentality that gives rise to them.

In the oil industry, nearly every operator has a "Wheel Spanner", not officially recognised as a tool, all made on the sly. Used to open or close valves, they could do a lot of damage if used incorrectly. This sounds like a gunners' Heath Robinson tool which the authorities turned a blind eye to, just like the oil industry does to the wheel spanner.

My interest in weapons is mostly movie related, I collect and make movie props, and I love this channel not for the regular models but for the outliers, which have the biggest chance of hitting it big in movies: case in point the Star Wars blaster and the ubiquitous Desert Eagle, a ridiculous large handgun no one would try to use in a concealed situation in real life.☺

i know nothing about this, my first thought was over the side of a wagon or from a crows nest onto the rigging. but seeing below in the comments the sense suggested about bosuns guns not actually use to shoot someone but to basically be a industrial lighter to clear a damp squib makes more sense than my thoughts... interesting video and comments section.

You hold the bulb and use the rail to fire them. the lack of precision would suggest a modified version used by privateers. the bosons pistol which for the sake of your face and arms had a much longer stock and a thicker barrel to keep it from turning into a pipe bomb looks more like a hammer with a straight handle.

Gotta say I was a lot surprised and a bit confused by Ian there. He's a really good at acting I must note based on this. Felt so natural. It's sort of mind bending, backwards to your assumptions that triggers in fact just stop the gun firing. And that making single shot mode is a complicated engineering problem instead of full auto.
